U15 & U17 Juniors Represent Shropshire At County Champs

It has been an action-packed week at Nottingham Hockey Centre, with four Shropshire County sides; U17 Girls, U15 Boys, U15 Girls and U17 Boys taking part in the county tournament blocks.

Telford & Wrekin HC was well represented across every single age group, giving many of our young players a fantastic opportunity to gain tournament experience. A special mention goes to our very own Liam Hennessy, who led the Shropshire programme as Lead Coach this year.

U17 Girls Gain Great Experience

The week started with the Shropshire Next Gen U17 Girls playing a series of games against county teams from across the region. Competing over three days, the squad used the tournament as a great opportunity to learn, develop, and build team spirit on and off the pitch.

Well done to the TWHC players in the squad: Ivy, Alissa, Amber, Eliza, Niamh, Ellie, Penny, and Martha.

U15 Boys & Girls Enjoy County Tournament

Next up were the U15 Girls and U15 Boys, who also headed to Nottingham for three days of hockey, development, and county camaraderie. The event provided a brilliant chance for our younger players to test themselves against different opposition while forming strong friendships with teammates from across Shropshire.

Congratulations to all the TWHC players involved: Charlie, Keertan, Luca, Oli, Nate, Jas, Curtis, Logan, Simrit, Ivy, Connie, and Tilly.

U17 Boys Round Off an Enjoyable Week

Rounding off the week were the U17 Boys, who closed out the festival of hockey with real team spirit. Playing across three days, the squad represented the county with pride and showed fantastic progress and learning throughout their matches.

Well done to: Savan, James, Seth, Sam, Tom, Tom (Shrewsbury HC Senior), Charlie, Freddie (Bridgnorth HC Senior), Dylan, Joe, and Logan.

A Great Team Effort

Running a county programme across four age groups takes a great deal of organisation and support.

A big thank you goes to all the coaches, team managers, and parents who gave up their time to drive and support the players throughout the week. Special praise goes to Liam Hennessy for his commitment, leadership, and drive in running the Shropshire Next Gen programme, ensuring our young players enjoyed a positive and rewarding experience.
