Volunteer to Help

TWHC Volunteer Agreement Form

Policy framework provided by EH, the club, and your responsibilities

This is a guideline for taking on volunteers into club roles and the process to follow.

All volunteers, coaches, team managers, technical delegates and officials are required to work to the standards and policies as determined by England Hockey (EH) and in accordance with TWHC’s implementation guidelines and operating best practice.

There are a number of volunteer positions within TWHC, most noticeably in the following areas/tasks:-

  • Coaching
  • Umpiring
  • Team Management
  • Fund raising/event organising
  • Technical /website data
  • Manual operation tasks up at the pitch
  • Committee
  • Help with junior teams

If you have skill or willingness to help, then please contact any member of the committee

The role can be described to you, tailored to meet your needs and the Club needs, and help will be provided.

In many areas, like coaching & umpiring, we provide training and also access to various documents that you need to be familiar with in order for you to carry out your role in accordance with the EH and club policy framework. Support Packs are available both via the club website and via the England Hockey website

  1. Duty of Care & Safeguarding People in Hockey;
  2. EH/TWHC ClubMark processes and guidelines, incl. DBS checking, youth and club development

If you have questions on any of the areas covered please ask a member of the Club Committee.

If you have questions on any of the available roles please ask a member of the Club Committee.

Depending on your role you may be required to undertake a DBS check,  and in accepting the role you will have been asked to confirm that you know of no reason why you should not be considered a fit and proper person to fulfil that role within TWHC. We also ask you to sign this form in the space provided below.

The key EH policies you need to be aware of are as follows:

  • EH Duty of Care in hockey, Safeguarding, Safeguarding & Protecting Young People in Hockey Policy (‘Safe D’)
  • EH Equality , Diversity & Inclusion Policy

The key club policies also available on the TWHC website are

  • TWHC Selection Policy, Mens & Ladies
  • TWHC Young Person Guide, incl. Code of Conduct
  • TWHC Development Plan & Youth Development Plan

If there are any policies that you would like access to but are unable to find, please contact anyone on the committee.

Please sign below and return to Gwynne Goodfield (Chairman) or anyone on the Club Committee as soon as possible.

I confirm that I have read and made myself familiar with the above policies and procedures of EH and TWHC and will ensure that I adhere to these codes and policies at all times.

I also confirm that I am willing to undertake a DBS check (if applicable) and know of no reason why I should not be considered a fit and proper person to fulfil my role within TWHC.
