A strong Telford 2nd XI travelled away to a notoriously tricky North Stafford who have been somewhat of a bogey team in recent year. Telford still missing midfield maestro John Perry started strong with almost all of the play taking place in the Staff’s half however what has been a clinical Telford seemed to be off their usual standard with little mistakes creeping up here and there (the amount of slippery leaves on the pitch playing havoc to a usually boyant Jorge Hadley-Moore). 33 minutes in without much really going on Matt Hadley-Moore picked the ball up in the Telford 25 and crafted one of his trademark runs leaving 3 staff’s players for dust before a pass into the D to an on form Tom Jones with the classic finish into the bottom corner! 1-0 to Telford at half time.. a team talk with Telford needing much improvement in the second half with real emphasis on their press took place.. 5 minutes into the second half that press proved positive with Jon Cook winning the ball on the 25 before flick to TJ with a first time finish into the bottom corner.. the floodgates opened!! Quick fire goals coming from Adam Phizacklea and that hatrick goal from TJ saw Telford take the game to staffs showing the level of class they have so far this season! 4-0 up and a well won short corner from Ollie Brannen led for a choice between the high level of options Telford have from short corners.. 5-0! A lovely drag flick from Phiz left him with a brace and a dominant Telford finish the game strong. From this, Telford have gone unbeaten so far this season and find themselves top of the league with a game in hand and 2 points clear! Morale and confidence is high and with a home game against Stone next week the boys want to continue this run of form! Man of the match - Tom Jones!
